Why South Africa ?

With South Africa ranking 5th on the global cybercrime density list, cyber security leaders must unite to tackle the escalating challenges.
With more than 70% of people in South Africa using the internet, South Africa seems a good opportunity for cybercriminals to target and exploit unaware internet users.
The South Africa Cybersecurity Market is expected to reach USD 233.70 million in 2023 and grow at a CAGR of 12.97% to reach USD 430 million by 2028.
The economic consequences of digital insecurity are estimated to cost $570 million a year in South Africa. In South Africa, 56 out of one million internet users were reported to have fallen cybercrime victims.
South Africa’s Cabinet has approved the 2022 Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Decadal Plan, which covers the period 2022 to 2031, in a move to advance the government’s approach to innovation in the country.
